Here's What You Need to Know

Participating as a runner is not for everybody.  Being a St. Jude runner requires a passion for helping the children, and it requires some effort to find donors to sponsor your run.  Runners for the Champaign-Urban Run must raise at least $1,000 for the privilege to participate in the overnight run.  It's not as hard as you might think, and we provide you all the guidance and tools needed to succeed.

You also need not be a marathon runner to make it to Peoria.  We run relay-style with segments of about 2-3 miles.  There's at least a two-hour break just before sunrise with a chance to shower and relax.  Run the segments you can, and enjoy the camaraderie.  There are always at least two runners the whole way to Peoria. We run with police escort, chase vans, and a comfortable charter bus to ride in when you aren't running.  Transportation is provided back to Champaign.

Plan on running into Peoria on the last mile segment over the Bob Michel bridge. There's rarely a dry eye anywhere as you are cheered on by enthusiastic crowds. It has to be experienced to understand it!
